Yes. There is a $100 nonrefundable application fee. This fee may be waived for individuals that qualify as low income. Refer to Offer in Compromise application for details.

An Offer in Compromise allows a taxpayer to settle a tax liability for less than the total amount owed.

After an Offer in Compromise is submitted for processing and acknowledged by the Department, we will generally not act to collect the tax liability while we evaluate your offer.

To be eligible to apply for an Offer in Compromise, you must have all required tax returns and reports filed and are not actively in Bankruptcy. Refer to the Offer in Compromise Booklet for additional information .
