License Plate Agency

Hoke County contracts with the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles to operate a License Plate Agency. This office handles transactions relating to registered motor vehicle vehicles, a few of which are renewal of annual license plates, transfers of motor vehicle titles, and issuance of handicap tags and placards.

To help provide you with the best and most efficient service possible, please keep in mind the following information:

• Acceptable fees are cash, check, debit and credit cards. We can accept Visa, Mastercard and Discover. All notary fees must be paid in cash.
• Property Taxes on vehicles for which tag renewal is being requested must be paid before plates can be renewed.
• To renew your license plate, your vehicle must have passed a state inspection within 90 days before your plate expiration date.
